2019 EUBC General Assembly Concluded in Moscow with the election of Vice Presidents and Executive Committee Members
26 February 2019The two-day EUBC General Assembly that took place in Moscow at the Intercontinental Tverskaya Hotel ended on February 23rd. It was attended by delegates from 40 National Federations and saw presence of AIBA President Mr. Gafur Rahimov as well as AIBA Executive Director Mr.Tom Virgets.
On February 21stthe Assembly was preceded by the concluding meeting of the outgoing Executive Committee, during which some statutory changes, requested by AIBA in order to standardize the statutes of the Confederations with that of AIBA, were approved. These changes reflected the desire of AIBA and EUBC to reform its governance, improve gender equality as well as they provided wider autonomy to the Confederation.
The first day of the General Assembly, February 22, included a four-year Confederation Report from EUBC HQ as well as Commission Reports by respective Chairs. On February 23, following a debate, the EUBC Financial Report was approved by the General Assembly and a more detailed version is to be provided to Member National Federations. The Assembly continued with the elections of three EUBC Vice Presidents and five Members of the EUBC Executive Committee. Umar Kremlev (RUS), Volodymyr Prodyvus (UKR) and Eyup Gozgec (TUR) were elected by the EUBC membership as Vice Presidents for the coming four-year term. As Members of the Executive Committee, the Assembly elected Maxim Certicovtev (MDA), Bono Bosnjak (CRO), Felipe Josè Martinez Martinez (ESP), Nenad Borovcanin (SRB) and Jakob Ragimov (ISR).
On the afternoon of February 23, the first meeting of the new EUBC Executive Committee took place, during which four additional members were appointed by EUBC President and approved by the Executive Committee. They were Dominique Nato (FRA), David Tsiklauri (GEO), Vasile Citea (ROU) and Susanne Karrlander (SWE). While Umar Kremlev has been appointed 1stVice President and Sumaid Khalidov the EUBC President’s Advisor. The next meeting of the EUBC Executive Committee was scheduled for March 16 in Vladikavkaz, during the EUBC Under 22 European Championships.
