A conversation with Blazo Saranovic, President of Boxing Association of Montenegro

What are the plans for the Olympic quadrennium?

The plans are very strictly to prepair more athletes to take a part of olympiad 2020, as well that is a part of strategy 2020, which have to be implemented for first time in Montenegro. The results of last Olympics are bad, we did not have representative in any category, even we tried to prepair two of athletes, they could not place into.

Which are the strategies to improve the pugilistic movement in Montenegro?

For Montenegro it will be Solomons work, but we will give all of us to try to implement it and to inport into the boxing strategy which will be developed by the end of year.

How is the boxing situation in Montenegro? How many are agonists among AOB amateurs? And among pro?

There is no APB athletes but there is 19 clubs with a lot of young potential as we showed at last Intenational Tournament “Trophy of Podgorica”. It was organized by local club with Association support, next year we will take all organisation and try to prepair bid for some of next European Championship.

How does your Federation towards the opening of the AIBA to pro boxing?

For now we do not have potential for it. Maybe in the future.

As you are facing the fight against doping? With what measures?

With firmness and in compliance with the regulations in force advocated by the AFLD (anti doping french agency). There is a need to educate our athletes about the need for them to provide up-to-date calendar elements to avoid being penalized by warnings that may deprive them of major competitions. They must be responsible for their project.
