Speech by the EUBC President, Franco Falcinelli, at the Opening Ceremony of EUBC Women’s European Boxing Championships
05 June 2018Today, in Sofia (Bulgaria), were opened the EUBC Women’s European Boxing Championships.
During the Opening Ceremony, the President of Bulgarian Boxing Federation, Krasimir Ininski, thanked all delegations, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport of Bulgaria, Vanya Koleva, for the continuous support in favour of Olympic Boxing, and EUBC for the trust to Bulgarian Boxing Federation for the organisation of European great events.
Franco Falcinelli, EUBC President, during the Opening Ceremoy, told:
“Dear Deputy Minister ofYouth and Sport, Ms Vanya Koleva, Dear President of the Bulgarian Boxing Federation Mr Krasimir Ininski,
Dear Boxing friends, Boxers, Coaches, R&Js, Team Leaders, Technical Delegate, ITOs and a special guest Ms Olga Domuladzhanova, World Champion 2001 in Scranton, USA.
On behalf of EUBC and AIBA Interim President, Mr Gafur Rahimov, it is a great pleasure to welcome all of you to the 11thedition of the EUBC Women’s European Boxing Championships.
32 participating Countries and 146 Boxers are showing the vitality of the European Women’s Boxing movement.
I would like to thank the Local Organizing Committee, Mr Krasimir Ininski, President of the Bulgarian Boxing Federation and his excellent staff for their great efforts to hosting this competition.
After the recent EUBC Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Championships in Albena, this is the second great European event taking place this year in Bulgaria. This shows that the Bulgarian Boxing Federation is reconfirming its strong tradition and gaining an important position in the World as it was in the past.
Dear President Ininski,
Thanks to your knowledge and experience of management in high sport events, the LOC has provided us a comfortable accommodation and warm hospitality. I am sure that the development of the whole competition will be excellent as always.
I strongly believe that all participants will spend a beautiful and unforgettable time in this wonderful city of Sofia.
I am also sure that the Technical Delegate, Ms Anna Laukkanen and all ITOs will ensure the respect of AIBA Technical Rules. Their great experience is the best guarantee for all of us.
I am confident that our Referees &Judges will judge with ethical principles and technical competence. The best in the ring must win.
