World class boxers at Strandja 2023

The first day of boxing at the 74th Strandja International Boxing Tournament starts today. The EUBC Technical Delegate, Dragoljub Radovic, from Montenegro, held the Technical Meeting and Official Draw at the Park Hotel Moskva, Sofia, Bulgaria, with trepresentatives of 38 countries in attendance. Altogether, 398 boxers, which is the highest number in the history of this tournament, will box this year in all 25 elite weight categories. There are 142 women and 256 men.

Teams from all continents will participate at Strandja, which is nothing new for this famous tournament. Every year the best boxers worldwide travel to Sofia, and this time it is no different. Spectators in the Sport Hall Sofia will have the opportunity to watch some world class boxers, such as: Current Olympic champions Kellie Harrington from Ireland and Bakhodir Jalolov from Uzbekistan, current World champions Rashida Ellis, Harvey Jahmal and Robby Gonzales from USA, Amy Broadhurst from Ireland, Tammara Thibeault from Canada, current European champions Sakhil Alakhverdovi, Artyush Gomtsyan and Georgii Kushitashvili from Georgia, Billal Bennama from France, and Vakhid Abbasov and Artjom Agejev from Serbia.

Preliminary bouts will be held from today until February 24, and sessions will start at 1 pm and 6 pm. Semifinals and finals are planned for February 25th and 26th, and sessions will start at 2 pm and 6 pm.
