Alibaba Group and AIBA Management

Dear Presidents, Dear Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I would like to inform you of newly announced partnership that you already have learned through communications from AIBA. I was honored to attend the signing ceremony at the heart of the Olympic movement, the IOC headquarters in Lausanne: the MOU between the AIBA President WU and President of ALIBABA Group, Mr. Jack MA, which is an extraordinary moment in AIBA’s history.

This achievement has been generated by the personal success of President WU due to the great esteem and consideration that he has inside and outside the Olympic movement, but also for the new credibility of the AIBA world recaptured under his leadership.

It is the first time that our International Association is signing an agreement with one of the most powerful Groups such as ALIBABA. This company is highly considered and appreciated worldwide, and its success in many different services testify the brilliant intuition and the excellent management of Mr. Jack Ma.

The strategic partnership with ALIBABA Sports Group (Alisports) will give a great opportunity “to cooperate on a number of projects in order to support and enhance the development of boxing specially in the emerging countries and to increase the value of all AIBA Boxing competitions” as highlighted by President WU.

With this MOU, the AIBA and its governance in boxing in all its forms can look towards the bright future with optimism for a high level of promotion and organization of our sport.

All information needed is available on AIBA web site www.aiba.org

Sincerely yours,

Franco Falcinelli EUBC President
