#APB 49 KG Final – A classic in China ensures Bin LV wins the APB title against Wu Zhonglin
05 February 2015A historic all-Chinese AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) Inaugural Title Match was the main event in Lingnan Pearl, Foshan, where Light flyweight (49 kg) Bin LV secured the Championship belt against compatriot Wu Zhonglin.
This was the second APB meeting between the two fighters, and again Bin LV emerged victorious, winning the fight 79:73 twice, and 78:74 on one scorecard.
The winner, now 4-0 in the competition started the title match off superbly, dominating the center of the ring from the very beginning, and producing a great pace round after round.
Zhonglin worked hard, but his counter-punching style failed to work, and he claimed just one round on a single scorecard in the first seven frames of the match.
In the latter rounds, the speed and accuracy of both never dipped, but though Zhonglin took the last round on all the cards, it was not enough for the victory, and Bin LV was named the overall winner.
The delighted fighter was presented the belt by AIBA President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu, and was able to celebrate with his friends and family at ringside.
Elsewhere on the card, Argentina’s Leandro Blanc defeated Ariunbold Ganselem, Mark Anthony Barriga beat Carlos Quipo by the closest of scorecards, and Birzhan Zhakypov went to 3-1 in APB with victory over Patrick Lourenco.
