Boxing greats and a host of young talent lines up for the WSB Season VI Draft
01 December 2015The World Series of Boxing Season VI Draft will be held on 1 December in Lausanne, Switzerland, ahead of the final confirmation of the 16 participating teams’ line-ups. Defending champions Astana Arlans Kazakhstan will once again be the team to beat as they go after an unprecedented third championship, with the draft providing the chasing pack with the perfect opportunity to reinforce their own line-ups.
Among the highly prized names on the list will India’s number one flyweight Gaurav Bidhuri who will be available having been part of last season’s Italia Thunder line up, when he took the prized scalp of Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s Miras Zhakupov during a highly impressive campaign.
Other names sure to catch the attention of the WSB team directors will be Bulgaria’s experienced 2009 AIBA World Lightweight Champion Detelin Dalakliev, who made just the one appearance for British Lionhearts in Season V, along with Croatia’s Hrvoje Sep. The light heavyweight was in dominant form last season for Astana Arlans, losing just once and securing himself a place at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Sep’s fellow countryman Filip Hrgovic has also been a WSB regular since Season I and is one of the most experienced athletes in the league. Following an unbeaten Season V with the Astana Arlans, the powerful super heavyweight will be hoping to get his hands on the Team trophy for the second year running, and will be top of many teams’ wish-lists on 1 December in Lausanne.
