Bulgaria’s next international event the 7th Balkan Women’s Tournament will be held in October 5-10

The Balkan Women’s Tournament will be returning to Bulgaria’s capital city to Sofia which is scheduled to be held in October 5-10. The 7th edition of the Balkan Women’s Tournament will be held this time for the female elite boxers and the event is open for the all of the affiliated National Federations. The management and the staff of the Bulgarian Boxing Federation has got all of the experiences to host big events in a level of a World Championships.

The first edition of the Balkan Women’s Tournament was held in 2015 for the junior, youth and elite female boxers. Bulgaria’s most experienced female boxers such as Sevda Asenova, Stoyka Petrova and Stanimira Petrova won the gold medals in Botevgrad in the 2018 edition where eight different nations claimed at least one title. Eleven countries joined to the last 2019 edition of the Balkan Women’s Tournament and among them host Bulgaria, Poland, Russia, Turkey and Finland were able to get at least one gold medal in Botevgrad.

The last 6th edition of the Balkan Women’s Tournament was held in Bulgaria’s Botevgrad from October 19 until the 25th. AIBA Women’s World Champions Stanimira Petrova and Beatriz Ferreira of Brazil, furthermore Bulgaria’s returning hero, the newly crowned Tokyo Olympic Champion Stoyka Petrova-Krasteva were also among the winners of the 2020 Balkan Women’s Tournament which was held during the tough Covid-19 period.

All of the participants must have a negative PCR test ot older than 72 hours upon arrival to Russia. The safety of all participants, the continuous medical checks, the social distancing, the hygienic preparations, wearing masks and all of the health controls were the responsibility of the local organizers in Bulgaria avoid any new Covid-19 cases during the new edition of the Balkan Women’s Tournament.
