Champions are on the board of the upcoming 59th Belgrade Winner Tournament
26 March 2022The 59th edition of the Belgrade Winner Tournament to be hold in the Serbian capital between March 28 and April 3 short after the EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships. Kazakhstan’s AIBA World Champion Temirtas Zhussupov, Serbia’s Natalia Shadrina, Bulgaria’s strong female duo as Stanimira Petrova and Svetlana Kamenova Staneva, and Morocco’s Khadija Mardi are the biggest names of the new Belgrade Winner Tournament.
Serbia’s main international event has scheduled for the elite women and men boxers as in the recent editions. The event is preparation before the main events in May as the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and the EUBC European Men’s Elite Boxing Championships.
Armenia, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, England, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Mali, Montenegro, Morocco, North Macedonia, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia and Wales sent their registrations to the 59th Belgrade Winner Tournament.
Belgrade was the host of the last edition of the AIBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships a few months ago. Since then, the Serbians hosted the Golden Gloves Tournament and the Nations Women’s Cup, which will follow the Belgrade Winner Tournament for the elite boxers.
The women boxers could attend in 10 weight categories while the male athletes competed in eight divisions in the 2021 Belgrade Winner Tournament. The number of the women boxers was 87 while 121 men participants competed for the medals in the last edition of the Belgrade Winner Tournament. Strong boxing nations as Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, England, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Scotland, Morocco, Tunisia, Wales, Hungary and Kyrgyzstan all attended in Belgrade one year ago.
The safety of all participants, the continuous medical checks, the social distancing, the hygienic preparations, wearing masks and all of the health controls are the responsibility of the local organizers in Serbia to avoid any new Covid-19 cases during the Belgrade Winner Tournament.
