EUBC Family mourns the passing away of Doctor Antonio Francone

The European Boxing Confederation (EUBC) is deeply saddened by the loss of a Great Italian Boxing Doctor, Antonio Francone. Dr. Francone was between 80’s and 90’s the Official Italian Boxing Federation Doctor and one of the greatest international expert of sport medicine.
“It is with great sadness that I announce that Prof. Antonio Francone at the age 83 has passed away.” Steted EUBC President Franco Falcinelli “Prof Antonio Francone was Chairman of the AIBA and EABA Medical Commission for many years and during his many years involved in boxing he organised two historical Medical Congress in Assisi and Urbino, Italy, when the Olympic Boxing risked to be put out of Olympic Program because considered too dangerous for boxers’ health. On behalf of EUBC and my personal condolences go out to his family, friends and Italian Boxing federation for this great lose.”
