EUBC hosts an Extraordinary General Assembly 2021
12 August 2021The EUBC Extraordinary General Assembly has gathered in virtual format on August 12, 2021 to adopt the new EUBC Constitution. The Constitution was unanimously adopted by the National Federations with voting rights.
The Constitution will give a greater role and larger representation of the EUBC within the AIBA community and the next Elective EUBC Congress will directly vote for the EUBC President – who will automatically seat in the board of directors of AIBA.
The Constitution also implements principles of good governance such as the fostering of gender equality (at least three female will seat in the EUBC Board of Directors), athletes’ representation (the EUBC Atlhetes Committee will be established), definite terms of office for the President and the Directors, and policies to prevent conflict of interests (a Director could not also seat in the R&J Committee or other technical committees).
The President Franco Falcinelli, after the adoption of the EUBC Constitution, said that “The new EUBC Constitution in my opinion clearly shows that the EUBC is ready to make a jump into the future, making our Confederation a leading body in the boxing community and also ensuring the our member federations and our boxers will be in a position to work and compete at the best of their capabilities and skills”.
