Impressive 127 boxers compete at the Boxam Tournament in Castellon de la Plana as Official Draw confirmed02 March 2021
The Official Draw of the 35th edition of the Boxam Elite International Boxing Tournament was held in the Hotel Golf del Playa in Castellon de la Plana, Spain. Altogether 127 boxers from 17 different countries are attending in the Boxam Tournament this week and 15 champions will be crowned following the finals.
The Technical Delegate of the 35th Boxam Tournament is Mrs. Susanne Karrlander of Sweden, EUBC official Mr. Dmitriy Gaistruk and the President of the Spanish Boxing Federation, AIBA EC member Mr. Felipe Martinez led the Official Draw.
The following nations are attending in the Boxam Tournament: Belgium, Chile, Denmark, Ecuador, France, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Monaco, Morocco, Panama, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Spain and United States of America.
Spain’s European Games winner Gabriel Escobar is one of the favourites of the men’s flyweight (52kg) but he will have such a strong opponent as first as India’s AIBA World Boxing Championships silver medallist and Asian Games champion Amit Panghal. The two stars will be meeting in the quarter-finals already while another star of the category, Kazakhstan’s Makhmud Sabyrkhan competes in the preliminary stage on Tuesday.
The safety of all participants, the continuous medical checks, the social distancing, the hygienic preparations, wearing masks and all of the health controls are the responsibility of the local organizers in Castellon de la Plana to avoid any new Covid-19 cases during the Boxam Tournament.
