Newsletter EUBC by President Franco Falcinelli – December 2017

18 January 2018 News

In december ends European boxing activity 2017, a year marked by intensive European boxing activity.

This month Romania and Azerbaijan have hosted two international tournaments: the Moldavian Belt and the International Youth Boxing Tournament “A. Agarov Cup – 2017”.

I congratulate all European National Boxing Federations for the excellent work they have done in this year.

New men and women champions established themselves in Europe shadowing the boxers (men and women) “Star of the Ring”.

Dear Boxing friends,

2017 has just ended and we are ready to face the new year that will bring us closer to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The past year has been characterized by an intense competition and organizational activity in our Continent. Thanks to hard efforts of your National Federations and to your passion Europe has hosted last year 54 International Tournament, 6 more than in 2017, and 7 European Championships. These important numbers show that our Continent is more than alive and give us a great hope for the future development of Boxing and growth of our boxers.

Great attention has been given to development and improvement of European Coaches, Referees & Judges, International Technical Officials, Supervisors and Instructors. Like every year, AIBA along with EUBC organized numerous Certification Courses, which are vital to ensure that our sport is practiced at the highest level and that boxers can grow and compete in utmost competence and neutrality.

Last year EUBC continuously worked on the development of the communication and promotion of boxing events, ensuring live streaming of all EUBC Championships through the official EUBC YouTube Channel and by widening the official Website and Social Media such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and Flickr. We strongly believe in the values of communication and we are getting good results, but even more can be done and we will give more attention in order to guarantee visibility that our athletes deserve.

We have given voice to many Presidents of National European Federations on the occasion of their elections and/or renewal of the highest office in the Federations, but we will not stop there!

We will continue the project of disclosure and improvement the communication: to introduce even more the “Star” of the ring — that is individual champion boxers and their technicians – is our aim.

Furthermore, we have created some videos enhancing many European Championships, thanks to the collaboration of Organising Federations.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank once again your National Federations for the hard work you have done and continuing to do in your Countries, because only your commitment and dedication can insure a flourish future of our beloved sport.

I hope that the 2018 will be a year of unfogettable successes.
