EUBC VICE-PRESIDENT TATIANA KIRIENKO: COMMENTS AND EVALUATION OF PAST CHAMPIONSHIPS – EUBC EUROPEAN YOUTH BOXING CHAMPIOSHIPS ANTALYA 2017
This event became a good tradition and a real holiday in Europe, where youth boxers representing 33 countries demonstrated team spirit, strength, ability to win, and these are the terms of any, not only sport success.
The competition has a special social significance: its participants have united not only sportsmanship, but also patriotic aspirations. That is why it is very important that the number of participants in the current championship is expanding. In addition, I am sure that the past competitions have made a real contribution to the strengthening of interethnic harmony and, Turkey, such a sunny Antalya – have become a meeting place for real friends.
Not only me, but also the leaders and the functionaries of the National Boxing Federations had a good impression of the organization of the competition.
And sports boxing judges have proved that the European judiciary looks much more perfect and more confident than the judiciary even at the last World Boxing Championship in 2017. Here, in Turkey, sports judges demonstrated excellent knowledge of the rules of the competitions in this sport, objective and decisive refereeing. And when communicating – very polite, intelligent people who are outside the competition have the authority and respect.
We all realize that in our sport: the best way to attract new participants to competitions, spectators to the stands, to make the “Olympic boxing” even more popular is to hold competitions with the participation of highly qualified, professional, highly moral, human, principled judges.
In my opinion, now boxing competitions in Europe are becoming the status of the largest sports projects.
To this end, the actions of the European Boxing Confederation have been and will be aimed at developing European boxing, respecting the fairness and transparency of European sports competitions, cooperating with organizations responsible for the development of boxing, protecting the physical health of athletes and athletes, especially young people.
The consistent application of the principles of good governance in European boxing will be a significant factor contributing to the extermination of corruption and other abuses in our sport, the growth of boxing popularity and the strengthening of boxing in the system of Olympic sports.
I thank EUBC President Mr. Franco Falcinelli, for the trust in me to be the leader of the European Boxing Youth Championship in Turkey!
I thank dear EUBC members Mr. Aleksandr Egorov and Mr. Dmitry Gaystruk for their dedication to boxing sport and their professionalism!
I express my gratitude to the President of the Turkish Boxing Federation Mr. Eyüp Gözgeç for organizing the competitions at a high level, hospitality and warm welcome of all participants of the competition! And this has, among other things, – at the entrance to the ring, – a very great value.
Our young boxers have very grandiose plans: EUBC European Championships 2018 and the World Championship 2018, training camps between them and finally the Youth Olympic Games.
I express confidence that a great future awaits the European athletes!
