OCA informs AIBA on Indian Woman Boxer incident investigation

Director of Asian Games Department and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Mr Haider A. Farman sent today a letter to AIBA Technical Delegate Mr. David B. Francis on the incident concerning Indian Women Boxer Ms. Sarita Laishram Devi.
The letter signified the steps taken to resolve the issue, as well as an understanding of the conclusion of the investigation.
“The working committee accepted the unconditional apology rendered by the boxer, and understood the circumstances in which the incident took place. However, the committee issued a stern warning to the boxer that this type of action and disrespect to the medal and her fellow competitor should not happen in future.”
