Official Draw revealed 136 boxers from 31 nations attend at the EUBC European Women’s Boxing Championships
25 August 2019The Technical Meeting and the Official Draw of the EUBC European Women’s Boxing Championships were held in the Hotel Eurostars Gran Madrid which is the official accommodation place of the team delegations. The event will be taking place in Madrid’s suburb region in Alcobendas City which will be the first continental championship in Spain since 1971.
The President of the Spanish Boxing Federation and EUBC EC member Mr. Felipe Martinez welcomed all of the delegations and wished good luck to them in the event during his short opening speech.
Ms. Anna Laukkanen is the Technical Delegate of the EUBC European Women’s Boxing Championships who led today’s meetings. Mr. Dragoljub Radovic of Serbia is the Deputy Technical Delegate in Madrid while EUBC Competition Manager Mr. Dmitriy Gaistruk also supported the meetings.
Ms. Anna Laukkanen informed all delegations about the schedule of the EUBC European Women’s Championships, the control scales, the official draw, the scoring system, the equipments, the awarding ceremony, the sanctions of the violations and other important issues and technical information of the event as well. No piercing will be allowed during the EUBC European Women’s Championships where all officials, boxers and coaches shall to follow and respect the AIBA Disciplinary Code.
Altogether 136 elite female boxers from 31 nations are taking part in the EUBC European Women’s Boxing Championships: Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Georgia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and Wales.
One of the developing European boxing countries Malta will be making its debut in the EUBC European Women’s Boxing Championships in Madrid. The most crowded category is the lightweight (60kg) with 18 boxers but the flyweight (51kg) and welterweight (69kg) are also popular in Spain’s capital.
The Opening Ceremony will be held in the evening of August 24 and following the show, 12 bouts is on the schedule of the first competition day. The equipment provider in the EUBC European Women’s Boxing Championships is the company of Green Hill.
