Russian Boxing Federation delegation visits EUBC
07 June 2017These days, Russian Boxing Federation delegation is visiting at the offices of EUBC in Assisi (Italy).
Franco Falcinelli, EUBC President, welcomed with enthusiasm Russian Federal components: Kremlov Umar Nazarovich, General Secretary of Russian Boxing Federation; Kiriyenko Tatyana Anatolevna, responsible for Administration and Sherzod Asatullaev, head of International department.

“Boxing in Russia is one of the three most important national sport and has a historical tradition that still we try to transmit with the aim to improve more and more.
“At this time we are living a boxing revival with important changes: the Russian Federation has new leaders and has changed the training plan. We are here, in Italy, because we believe that Italian boxing can provide valuable lessons to improve ourselves. We would like to continue and intensify the work of interchange between the Russian and Italian technical center”.

“As for boxing, Russia is the lead nation, not only in Europe, but all over the world. They have a great boxing tradition and organisational. Just to give an example: at the time of the Cuban revolution, from Fidel Castro arrived about 50 Russian technicians to teach boxing on the island and then, over the years, all the boxing fans have raved about the excellent technical level of Cuban boxers. Few people know that the first coach of the great Cuban Boxer, Teófilo Stevenson (the maximum weight, three-time Olympic Games of Munich ‘ 72, Montreal ‘ 76, Moscow ‘ 80) was the Russian coach, Ogurenkov.

“The respect for Russian Boxing Federation of Russia made sure that, since Beijing 2008, the Italian Boxing Federation cooperate with them by calling the Russian technical Vassily Filimonov to assist the Italian technicians and Coordinator planning and training methodology Elite teams AOB.
“Today I hope that Victor Lai, President of Italian Boxing Federation, will continue on the path of cooperation and interchange between the two federations”.
