Sixteen nations registered to attend at the 7th Balkan Women’s Tournament

The upcoming 7th edition of the Balkan Women’s Tournament will be starting with its first competition day on Wednesday and the event is the highlight of the week. Several EUBC European Champions, ASBC Asian Champions, medallists from AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will strengthen the Balkan Women’s Tournament.

Bulgaria, Chile, England, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Norway, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Uzbekistan and Wales registered to attend in the upcoming Balkan Women’s Tournament. According to the entry lists, the featherweight (57kg) will be the strongest category with several top boxers in the line-ups.

The first edition of the Balkan Women’s Tournament was held in 2015 for the junior, youth and elite female boxers. The last 6th edition of the Balkan Women’s Tournament was held in Bulgaria’s Botevgrad from October 19 until the 25th in 2020 during a hard and difficult period. AIBA Women’s World Champions Stanimira Petrova and Beatriz Ferreira of Brazil, furthermore Bulgaria’s returning hero, the newly crowned Tokyo Olympic Champion Stoyka Petrova-Krasteva were also among the winners of the 2020 Balkan Women’s Tournament.

All of the participants must have a negative PCR test ot older than 72 hours upon arrival to Russia. The safety of all participants, the continuous medical checks, the social distancing, the hygienic preparations, wearing masks and all of the health controls were the responsibility of the local organizers in Bulgaria avoid any new Covid-19 cases during the new edition of the Balkan Women’s Tournament.
