The Liventsev Memorial Tournament will be the Test Event for the 2019 European Games in Minsk
08 October 2018The 16th edition of the Liventsev Memorial Tournament will be held this week in the capital city of Belarus in Minsk. The competition is preparation event for the upcoming European Union Boxing Championships and test event for the 2019 European Games. Belarus’ No.1 EUBC European U22 Champion Dzmitry Asanau will be also attending in the forthcoming Liventsev Memorial Tournament in Minsk.
Minsk hosted the 1998 edition of the European Men’s Elite Boxing Championships and the city is ready to organize its next big competition. The Belarusian capital will be hosting the 2nd edition of the European Games in June 21-30 next year which will be one of the highlights for the elite boxers in 2019.
The Liventsev Memorial Tournament is a preparation and test event for the 2019 European Games which raised his importance up to another level. The Belarusian Boxing Federation will be hosting the event for the elite women and men boxers in Minsk where the Technical Delegate will be Mr. Marko Marovic of Croatia.
The following 18 European and Asian nations registered to take part in the upcoming Liventsev Memorial Tournament: host Belarus, China, Croatia, England, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, France, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Wales.
The Belarusians will be attending in the event with 25 women and men boxers and their line-ups contains EUBC European U22 Champion Dzmitry Asanau (60kg), Rio 2016 Olympian Pavel Kastramin (69kg), two-time Olympian Mikhail Dauhaliavets (81kg) and WSB boxer Yauheni Karmilchyk (49kg).
The Italian squad contains also world class boxers such as two-time Olympian Manuel Fabrizio Cappai (52kg), EUBC European Youth Champion Raffaele Di Serio (56kg), Rio 2016 Olympian Valentino Manfredonia (81kg) and EUBC European U22 Champion Aziz Abbes Mouhidine (91kg).
England’s AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Mohammed Harris Akbar (69kg), Georgia’s EUBC European U22 Champions duo Lasha Guruli (64kg) and Eskerkhan Madiev (69kg), France’s Rio 2016 Olympian Paul Omba Biongolo (91kg), Israel’s Myroslav Kapuler (69kg) and Ukraine’s former AIBA Junior World Champion Robert Marton (91kg) are also attending in the event.
