The upcoming EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships will be the highlight of the month of March
15 February 2022The EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships will be held in Porec, Croatia on March 11-24. The event will be the first European Boxing Championships in 2022 but several others will follow it in the busy year to cover all age groups.
Croatia’s capital, the city of Zagreb hosted the 2016 EUBC Schoolboys European Boxing Championships and after a few years of break, a top event returns to the country. The Croatian Boxing Federation has the experiences to host such a huge event as the EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships at the highest level.
Boxers who were born in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 are eligible to attend in the upcoming EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships. The official 12 women’s divisions and the 13 male weight categories will be held in the first European continental event of the year.
Twenty champions have been crowned in the last edition of the EUBC European U22 Boxing Championships in Roseto degli Abruzzi, Italy on June 2021. The gold medals have been shared between Russia, Italy, France, England, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Armenia and Ireland in the championships.
The following record number of 41 nations attended in the 2021 EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, host Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and Wales.
The safety of all participants, the continuous medical checks, the social distancing, the hygienic preparations, the vaccines check, the mask wearing and all of the health controls are the responsibility of the local organizers in Croatia to avoid any new Covid-19 cases during the EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships.
