Thirteen nations including the US team have already registered to the upcoming Boxam Tournament which will be held on October 5-11

Spain’s top event, the upcoming 34^th edition of the Boxam Elite International Boxing Tournament could be one of the highlights in the European boxing map in October. Several of the European National federations have registered already to the prestigious Boxam Tournament. Out of our continent, United States of America also confirmed their participation in the Boxam Tournament with their best line-ups increasing the number of registered countries up top 13. 

The Boxam Elite International Boxing Tournament was scheduled to be held on April according to the original EUBC Calendar and plans but due to the Covid-19 situation it was cancelled. Following the decision of the Spanish Boxing Federation, the event was re-scheduled to October 5-11 in the same venue in Castellon de la Plana.

The safety of all participants, the continuous medical checks, the social distancing, the hygienic preparations, wearing masks and all of the health controls are the responsibility of the local organizers in Spain to avoid any new Covid-19 cases during the Boxam Elite International Boxing Tournament.    

The Boxam Tournament will be held for the elite female and male boxers in Castellon de la Plana which is located near to Valencia in Spain. The Boxam Tournament will be a strong international event where many of the boxers can return to the boxing rings and prepare actively before all of the possible main goals.

Castellon de la Plana hosted the 2018 Boxam Women’s Tournament when the city was introduced to the Europeans boxers and athletes from other continents including the US team. The city welcomed the participants of the Boxam Tournament one year ago when the event was held for both genders. 

Spain’s ex-Cuban boxer Emmanuel Reyes had a fantastic final against Italy’s star Aziz Abbes Mouhiidine at the heavyweight (91kg) one year ago which was won by the local hope. The 2019 edition of the Boxam Tournament was a strong preparation event for the upcoming European Games and for the EUBC European Women’s Boxing Championships. Australia, Ecuador, New Zealand and Thailand are also sent boxers besides to the tough European countries which meant four continents attended in Castellon de la Plana in 2019.
