Following the EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships, the EUBC Youth European Boxing Championships, the EUBC European Men’s Elite Boxing Championships and the EUBC Schoolboys & Schoolgirls European Boxing Championships, the fifth continental event has been scheduled. The EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships will be held in Montesilvano, Italy between September 25 and October 5.

The deadline for the registrations is August 31 therefore today is the last option of the National Federations to upload their delegations’ list to the IBA Database. Female and male boxers who were born in 2006 and in 2007 are eligible to participate in the EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships.

Montesilvano, which means woody hill, is located in the province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It has the population of 54,000 and Montesilvano is very near to Roseto degli Abruzzi, one of the host cities of some previous EUBC Championships. The Italian Boxing Federation hosted the 2021 EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships which was their last main event in the country.

The last edition of the EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships took place in Tbilisi, Georgia in July 2021 and 26 champions secured their gold medals. Cyprus’ Laila Abdullatif continued her amazing winning path and won her nation’s first ever title in the history of the EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships.

Russia bagged eight, Ukraine three gold medals, while Georgia and Hungary both won one title in the men’s finals. Ukraine’s Oleksiy Stepanov won the tightest final of the day while the favourites such as Ivan Tikhonov, Levente Olah and Demur Kajaia all won the gold medals.

Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Italy, Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Romania, Hungary, Montenegro, Croatia, Bulgaria, Israel, Germany, Serbia, Poland, Cyprus and Spain earned medals in the 2021 EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships.

The number of the participating boxers was 335 including 111 girls in the 2021 EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, host Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine sent athletes to Tbilisi.
