14 December 2020 News

The Cologne Boxing World Cup has been re-scheduled two-times this year and will be held finally as one of the last competitions of the difficult year. Several stars as Germany’s Ornella Wahner, India’s Amit Panghal, Netherlands’ Nouchka Fontijn and France’s Sofiane Oumiha registered to attend in the Cologne Boxing World Cup.

The German event was previously known as Chemistry Cup and Halle hosted in the recent decades since 1970 as one of the strongest European elite international tournaments. It was moved to Cologne this time but several of the top countries will be attending in the re-branded competition.

The 2019 edition of the Cologne Boxing World Cup saw seven women and ten men finals in Germany one and half year ago. The German Boxing Federation’s great show delivered sensational fights in the last competition day in 2019 when France’s Sofiane Oumiha remained unbeaten following his world class final against Thailand’s Wuttichai Masuk. Germany’s Abu-Lubdeh Abdulrahman exceeded all of the expectations with his gold medal at the light heavyweight (81kg) in 2019.

The safety of all participants, the continuous medical checks, the social distancing, the hygienic preparations, wearing masks and all of the health controls are the responsibility of the local organizers in Germany to avoid any new Covid-19 cases during the Cologne Boxing World Cup.
