World class boxers compete in the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament this week
16 February 2021Montenegro’s new international competition, the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament will be a highlight of the week. Thirteen nations registered to attend in the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament including boxers from Russia, Uzbekistan, India, Ukraine, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Finland and host Montenegro therefore high quality of boxing is guaranteed.
The city of Budva hosted the 2020 edition of the EUBC Youth European Boxing Championships and the international boxing will be returning to Montenegro after three months. Mr. Aleksandr Klemenko is the engine of Budva’s boxing and since the end of December, he is the President of the Boxing Association of Montenegro. His main goal is to develop boxing in the country and arrange more international tournaments in the upcoming years.
The event will be a preparation event for the upcoming AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships which will be held in Kielce, Poland on April 10-24. Boxers who were born in 2002 and in 2003 are able to attend in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships therefore the local organizers in Budva decided to schedule the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament for the same age group.
The first competition day will be on February 17 in Budva while the finals are scheduled to be held on February 21. The Boxing Club Budva with the support of the Municipality of Budva are the organizers of the new youth competition. Boxers can attend in 10 female and in 10 male weight categories at the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament.
The safety of all participants, the continuous medical checks, the social distancing, the hygienic preparations, wearing masks and all of the health controls are the responsibility of the local organizers in Budva to avoid any new Covid-19 cases during the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament.
