Week 5 Group B Caciques de Venezuela vs Argentina Condors

Caciques Venezuela comfortably dispatched Argentina Condors 4-1 in a superb South American derby to win their second match in the World Series of Boxing (WSB).

A terrible start to the campaign is now even worse for the Argentine Franchise, who have still yet to win this season after five matches.

The night began with a victory for Venezuela at Light flyweight (49 kg) where Yoel Finol picked up his second win of Season V by winning every round against Argentina’s Christian Eduardo Roda.

Home favourite José Vicente Azocar went into his Bantamweight (56 kg) bout with Elias Nahuel Gonzalez having lost his first two matches of the season, but he picked up his first victory with a round one knockout over the Condors fighter.

Argentina won the third fight of the evening to delay their overall defeat, when Light welterweight (64 kg) Ronan Nahuel Sanchez won by a single point on all three scorecards against Yoelvis Hernandez.

The victory was assured for Venezuela at Middleweight (75 kg), as Argentina’s Christian Zarate was forced to pull out of his bout with Jose Endry Saavedra Pinto due to injury in round two of their fight.

Heavyweight (75 kg) Ronald Jose Gonzalez Silva then finished off the commanding Caciques conquest with a wide points win over Dario Alcapan.

Caciques Venezuela will want to keep the momentum going next week away to Italia Thunder, while the Argentina Condors quest for a first win of the season does not get any easier as they travel away to Astana Arlans Khazakstan.
