#WSBV Day 5 – Ukraine Otamans stave off Algeria Desert Hawks fightback to claim victory

Ukraine Otamans survived an early scare from Algeria Desert Hawks as they won their fourth match of Season V, and are looking like a real threat in Group A of the World Series of Boxing (WSB).
The Algerian Franchise are still without a win this season, but will gain confidence from taking two legs against Ukraine, and the fans watching at Chalane Hocine, Blida were treated to five excellent bouts.
Uzbekistan’s Hasanboy Dusmatov has been one of the best Otamans boxers in recent weeks, and the Light flyweight (49 kg) won his third match of the campaign against 0-1 Belkacem Khennoussi.
A routine win for the European Franchise looked likely after the second fight, when Bantamweight (56 kg) Mykola Butsenko earned his second win of the season with a comfortable points victory over Fahem Hammachi.
Algeria Desert Hawks rallied in the third bout however, where Light welterweight (64 kg) Mohamed Boudiaf cooly defeated Ukraine’s young Klitschko Brothers Youth Tournament winner Viktor Petrov.
The score became equal four fights in after Middleweight (75 kg) Ilyas Abbadi delighted the home fans with a points win against Taras Holovashchenko.
With everything to play for going into the Heavyweight (91 kg) finale, 2006 European Champion Denys Poyatsyka went 3-0 for the season after outclassing 1-1 Bouziane Houna to ensure the victory for the Ukrainians.
