Russian Boxing Team have made an excellent start to Season V of the World Series of Boxing (WSB) and sit in third place in Group A despite having competed in a match less than the majority of the other Franchises in the group.

This week they host second placed Ukraine Otamans, who have won four of their five matches this season.

Sports Palace Of The Volgograd Labor Unions (Volgograd) is the venue for this Group A clash, where on Saturday 21st February fans across the world can watch the action free, live and on demand from 20:00 (GMT +3) at AIBABoxingTV.com.

The action begins at Flyweight (52 kg) where Russia’s former AIBA Youth World Championships bronze medallist Vasilii Vetkin makes his first appearance of the campaign against Kyrgyzstan’s Azat Usenaliev, whose sole appearance in Season V thus far for Ukraine Otamans was a TKO win over Andrew Selby.

2-0 Russian Lightweight (60 kg) Adlan Abdurashidov then faces Ukraine’s Pavlo Ishchenko who is competing for the first time this season.

Radzhab Butaev has looked excellent in his two WSB matches for Russia so far in Season V, and looks for his third win in a row at Welterweight (69 kg) against Ukraine’s 0-1 Oleg Zubenko.

Russian Light heavyweight (81 kg) Pavel Silyagin won his last match against Igor Teziev, but his quest for a clearer victory will be tough to accomplish during his bout with Oleksandr Khyzhniak, who is 2-0 including a brutal stoppage win over Britain’s Aston Brown.

Maxim Babanin’s sole Heavyweight (91 kg) win came via walkover, so his fight with Ukraine’s Ihor Shevadzutskyi could be a quick one, with neither man having enjoyed a single minute of WSB in ring action so far this season.
