#WSBV Day 9 – Puerto Rico Hurricanes defeat Argentina Condors 4-1 in San Juan
16 March 2015An excellent night of World Series of Boxing (WSB) action in San Juan finished with a 4-1 victory for Puerto Rico Hurricanes over Argentina Condors.
This result sees Puerto Rico’s undefeated run at home stretch to four matches, while Argentina have still yet to win in Season V.
The Hurricanes enjoyed a 1-0 lead before the fixture began, as Argentina’s Christian Eduardo Roda missed weight ahead of his Light flyweight (49 kg) clash with Anthony Chacon Rivera and was therefore unable to compete.
Argentine debutant Piero Carloni evened up the scoring after the second fight of the night when he defeated Bantamweight (64 kg) Garibaldy Gomez by split decision.
Light welterweight (64 kg) Jan Rivera then enjoyed his third successive home win by outpointing Condor Ronan Nahuel Sanchez.
The WSB debut of French Middleweight (75 kg) Christian M’Billi Assomo was highly anticipated, and the Hurricane lived up to the hype when he stopped 0-2 Sergio Alberto Lebensztajn in round two of their bout.
Heavyweight (91 kg) Gabriel Richards secured Puerto Rico’s fourth win of the evening after Argentina’s Dario Alcapan was disqualified in their match.
Puerto Rico Hurricanes host Italia Thunder next week, while Argentina Condors welcome Rafako Hussars Poland.
