#WSBV – Unstoppable Ukraine Otamans signal intent with 4-1 victory against Mexico Guerreros

Ukraine Otamans have been one of the most successful Franchises across the entire history of World Series of Boxing (WSB) and they began Season V with a wide 4-1 victory over Mexico Guerreros.
A wonderful venue in the Acco International Exhibition Center in Kiev showcased some tremendous action between two Franchises who always produce entertainment.
The Light flyweights (49 kg) opened the action, with Uzbekistan’s Hasanboy Dusmatov representing the Otamans enjoying a tight points win over Mexico’s Joselito Velázquez Altamirano.
Dusmatov claimed the first two rounds, before the Mexican star fought back to win the next two, and it was the experience of the Uzbek fighter which was significant, as he used all the skills he has learned during his past WSB bouts by winning the last round on all three scorecards.
At Bantamweight (56 kg) Mykola Butsenko, a former AIBA World Championships bronze medalist displayed just why he was ranked in the top ten of WSB last season as he won every single round against Mexico’s Sergio Alfredo Chirino Sánchez.
Raúl Curiel García, one of Mexico’s very best Light welterweights (64 kg) then claimed the first win of the season for the Guerreros Franchise, as he won a unanimous decision over Volodymyr Matviichuk.
The Mexican momentum failed to last however, with Middleweight (75 kg) Hurshidbek Normatov, another Uzbek fighter representing Ukraine winning a near shutout against Misael Uriel Rodríguez Oliva, to secure the evening as a winning one for Ukraine.
2006 European Champion Heavyweight (91 kg) Denys Poyatsyka then made it 4-1 on the night for the Otamans, as he didn’t drop a single round over Albania’s Christian Demaj who is representing Mexico this season.
