Interview with Mr. Franco Falcinelli, EUBC President
This meeting is very important – says EUBC President, Falcinelli – because is decided the future of Olympic boxing from the point of view of technical achievements in various sporting competitions.
As in any sport, the sector of referees & judges is crucial importance: after the latest events that have affected the boxing world movement, AIBA, the IOC demanded, by the way, effective changes that have conditions required to give the possibility to boxing to continue to be part of the Olympic movement.
These two days – says EUBC President – represent an opportunity for necessary comparison: we must focus on the solution to ensure a strict selection of the best referees and judges and, in case of mistakes committed by them during the evaluation of match, apply equally stringent measures.

In these two days, we will treat many arguments and, in particular, we will analyze and evaluate mistakes made by AIBA referee’s sector and prospects for Tokyo 2020 thanks to a new program and a new way to train the staff of this sector.
