Interview with Ray Silvas, AIBA R&J Vice Chairman
18 January 2017The American Ray Silvas, Aiba R & J Vice Chairman, in his distinguished career as a referee/judge, has played this role in five Olympic Games.
The APB/WSB R & J Certification Course, which was held in Assisi (Italy) from 14 to 16 January, attended by 25 referees/judges 3 star and Mr Silvas had the role of trainer of the participants.
The aim of this course is the improvement of training both technical and ethical, which play a crucial role in the match.
What is the goal of the APB/WSB R & J CERTIFICATION COURSE held in Assisi (Italy) from 14 to 16 January?
“The goal of this course is to improve the training of referees/judges so that they can work among the sixteen strings in an excellent way. From here they will come out the best referees/judges in the world. The next month will begin the tournament World Series of Boxing (Wsb) and some of them will surely be called upon to arbitrate. ”
Imagined so many requests for participation in the course?
“I was amazed by the requests received to participate in this course. We could convene only 25 candidates from over ninety requests. Although the level of preparation of the participants is very high, we are very demanding and maybe someone will have to repeat the exam”.
