The Hungarian and the French youth team prepared together in Tata
05 March 2018Following the prestigious Bocskai Memorial Tournament the next international event in Hungary will be the 68th edition of the Bornemissza Youth & Junior Memorial Tournament. Before the start of the competition the 12-strong French youth team had a common training and sparring camp with the Hungarians in the Tata Olympic Training Centre.
The French youth team consist their top talent 16-year-old Hugo Grau whose elder brother Enzo achieved bronze medal in the St. Petersburg 2016 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. Their Bilel Gourari is Youth National Champion in France at the flyweight (52kg) and competed several international competitions in the recent two years.
Jeremie Dupetitmagneux achieved bronze medal in the 2016 EUBC European Confederation Junior Boxing Championships and moved up to the light welterweight (64kg). Axel Yoka is their Rio 2016 Olympic Champion Tony Yoka’s brother and could be their next future hope at the light heavyweight (81kg).
The best 10 Hungarian youth boxers were there also in the Tata Olympic Training Centre which is located 70km from Budapest. Hungary’s youth No.1 Attila Bernath, who claimed silver medal in the 2017 EUBC European Confederation Youth Boxing Championships, is aiming for a spot for the Youth Olympic Games.
The training camp was also a preparation for the upcoming EUBC European Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Roseto degli Abruzzi, Italy which will be the qualification event for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
