Belarusian Boxing Federation launches the “Schoolboys Boxing”

Dmitry Tikhomolov, Belarusian Boxing Federation President has saw through a brilliant initiative, rich of prospective and in line with AIBA HeadsUp promoted by President CK WU.

The main goal of President Tikhomolov and his efficient staff was have strong and dedicated partners: Schools Institutions and the Governing Bodies of the main Cities of Belarus.

Another vital link was with the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture. Along with President WU and President Tikhomolov, we have visited this excellent University campus, where we were welcomed with great enthusiasm by the Rector Grigory Kosyachenko, the Vice-Rector Vladimir Kovalenya and the Teaching Staff along with a group of students, many foreigners, who were keenly interested in our meeting.

Prof. Kosyachenko stressed the role of scientific training for future coaches and the University’s availability to cooperate with the Belarus Boxing Federation on this strategic action.

Presdent WU in his speech said that “The safety of the boxers is our top priority and Coaches’ role is fundamental in the health and safety of participants prior to, during, and after the competitions. AIBA strongly believes that the quality of coaching has a direct transformational effect on the practice and awareness of our sport.

I have highlighted that “Training is not a set of learned by taking a certification, but the result of a training plan that tends to structure, to solidify and comprehensively strengthen our sports organization. AIBA, through the lens of HeadsUp, highlights the great importance to invest in the training of Coaches and the role of Sport University, like in Minsk, means to bridge innovation with a rich tradition.

The involvement of the Sport Institutions found the best partners in the Minister of Sport and Tourism Alexander Shamko and in Maxim Ryzhenkov, First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee.

The President of NOC who is a great sportman, is the President of Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. On the occasion of the 25 th Anniversary of Belarusian NOC celebrated in concert of the European Olympic General Assembly, President Lukashenko showed the high political consideration toward the social role of Olympic sport in Belarus.

The final meeting scheduled by President Tikhomolov proved to be the most attractive and enriching appointments of the trip, full of emotional meaning. We visited a Secondary School N 9, City of Minsk. At 11 o clock we have had the pleasure to assist at “Training Boxing Session” with more than 60 young schoolboys that under the teaching of two valid Coaches have shown their ability, skills and motivation to train and play boxing.

The School’s Director Prof. Eugeny Dobrenevsky showed a the strong commitment to the BLR Boxing Federation’s project and together share the same visionary goal. Many parents were present at their children’s exhibition and reaffirmed that the practice of boxing can improve and be an important social, educational, and self esteem tool in the development of their sons.

At the end of this interesting experience in Minsk, President WU has expressed deep appreciation and full support to Mr. Tikhomolov and his staff, the Secretary General Mr. Nikolay Belshakov, the Executive Director Denis Sabaleusky, Dmitry Yakubchik Director of Sport School and Member of EUBC Coaches Commission, Vitaly Morgunov Director of Center of Physical Culture, to promote boxing at all level in Belarus.
