Dutch Business boxing galas attract the attention in Europe
19 November 2018Started as entertainment, an experiment. Often energetic mid- forties who combine the hustle and bustle of doing business with boxing training, wanted to experience the thrill of a competition. That is how the successful business boxing project of the Dutch Boxing Federation started about three years ago.
All sections of society participate. A paid football club nowadays organizes (for the third time already) a prominent boxing gala for business club members, who pick up the boxing gloves after months of training. Brave Rotterdam and Utrecht businessmen do the same, whose proceeds go to charity, sometimes in combination with an auction of historical boxing attributes. Bartenders from chic hotels also step into the ring to decide who is the best in the country.
In short, business boxing is becoming a new trend. This is also starting to stand out more and more in other countries. Encouraged by the enthusiasm of President Boris van der Vorst of the Dutch Boxing federation, who promotes business boxing everywhere, the German representative Reisinger came to visit neighborhoods in Rotterdam. And in December the business boxing event in Bunnik was visited by the Scottish representative Fraser.
Of course, delegations from other countries are also welcome. President Franco Falcinelli of the European Boxing Confederation applauds this development and promises to bring the initiative to the attention in other countries as well.
