England – In Your Corner/Dr Kathy Adcock & Mr. Ricardo Williams

In Your Corner (IYC) is a boxing group programme with an integrated emotional wellbeing component. It targets young people who find it hard to manage their feelings, behaviour or relationships. The project takes evidence-based ideas from mental health intervention and delivers them flexibly alongside boxing skills, with a Clinical Psychologist and a boxing coach working together in the gym. The group aimed to improve physical and emotional wellbeing, develop boxing skills and sense of community. The group was highly successful in achieving sustained engagement and positive impact, as seen in this video made in collaboration with the young people.

Netherlands – Boxing Gym Schildkamp / Mr. John Schildkamp

Since 1980 all boxing categories have been catered for at Boxing Gym Schildkamp, including youth, women and seniors. Schildkamp became a standard in The Netherlands and abroad and joined The Dutch Boxing Federation. John Schildkamp obtained his training license and even his two daughters play an active role in the boxing gym. Boxing gym Schildkamp distinguishes itself by cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, the Police of Rotterdam and the Probation Service.

Sweden – Kings Camp / Mr. Sabatino Leo

Kings Camp is a training camp open for all boxers that want to learn and train together under Mr. Sabatino Leo. Mr. Leo has been chosen to hold these camps cause his two boxers, Jordan Reynolds and now Alex bishop has won the big male tournament KING OF THE RING. He is the only one who has won the championship with two different boxers. His great work and inspiring way of sharing his knowledge with both other coaches and boxers on any level is helping improve boxing in Sweden at grassroots. He works hard and has made this camp in to one of the most popular in Sweden. With a charismatic style and a friendly way, he always has time for everybody and that is why Kings Camp and Sabatino Leo is very popular. A true gentleman to this sport.
