#Sofia14 EUBC EU Boxing Championships – Recap of the first 7 Editions of the Competition
31 July 2014The Men’s 2003 European Union Amateur Boxing Championships were held in Strasbourg, France from June 10 to June 14. The 1st ever edition of the annual competition was organised by the European governing body for amateur boxing, EABA (Now EUBC). Turkey dominated the Medal Standings thanks to 5 Gold and 2 Bronze Medals.
The Men’s 2004 European Union Amateur Boxing Championships were held in Madrid, Spain from June 20 to June 27. A total number of 92 fighters from across Europe competed at these championships. The Bulgarian Boxers got the first position in the medal Standigs having won 5 gold and 2 Bronze medals.
The third edition of the Championships was held in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy from June 4 to June 11. A total number of 92 fighters took part in the competition. The Host Country, Italy, got rid of the competitors having conquered 4 gold and 1 silver medals.
The Men’s 2006 European Union Amateur Boxing Championships took place in Pécs, Hungary from May 23 to May 27. 85 fighters, on behalf of 20 countries, fought in this edition of the tournament. Hungary got in the top sep of the podium, in virtue of 3 gold and 4 bronze medals.
The Men’s 2007 European Union Amateur Boxing Championships were held in Dublin, Ireland from June 18 to June 23. 119 boxers from across Europe landed in Ireland Capital City to compete at this tournament. The Irish team was the best in the contest thanks to 3 gold and 1 silver medals.
Cetniewo, Poland from June 15 to June 22 hosted The Men’s 2008 European Union Amateur Boxing Championships. 119 athletes came to Poland for these championships. First in the Medal Standings was the english team ’cause its boxers got 4 gold, 3 silver and 1 Bronze Medals.
The Men’s 2009 European Union Amateur Boxing Championships was held at the Odense Sports Centre in Odense, Denmark from June 14 to June 21. 125 Boxers, representing 20 countries, participated in the competition. Ireland got the first step of the podium having won 3 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals
