The Tokyo Olympic Games will be re-scheduled beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021
24 March 2020The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games has been postponed today and will be re-scheduled into a new date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021 due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus situation as it has stated in the official communication of the website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Shinzo Abe and the President of the International Olympic Committee Mr. Thomas Bach had a conference call earlier today and many of the Japanese and IOC officials joined to the conversations. Japan fights well against the Covid-19 Coronavirus but the outbreak is affected the whole world therefore the officials decided to postpone the Olympic Games.
The European Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event has been suspended after the third competition day in London on March 16. The Qualifier will be continued with its Day4 as soon as the situation will be cleared which affects also the planned World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event.
